Someone classically trained, but flexible enough to work with a diverse congregation seeking traditional, as well as contemporary musical expressions. A person familiar with Episcopal hymnody, and service music, Anglican psalm pointing, 4 part harmony, Taize, ethnic and contemporary music, would be wonderful. This year we will hold our 25th Messiah Sing, which the organist is responsible for organizing, with the assistance of the clergy and choir. We have a 1975 Noack pipe organ with mechanical action and a Baldwin concert grand, and we are open to the use of additional instruments. Our choir is small, but we are enthusiastic. We currently have one service with music on Sunday mornings, but are considering an additional more contemporary service at another time which this person would help plan. Please e-mail your resume to Zion Church, zionchurch@twcny.rr.com, or contact us at 315-336-5170 for more information about the position.
